Tasting Notes: Smooth, Floral, Balanced

Lola is our house espresso, and it makes a great drip - even while it cools. It's slightly bright up front but settles into an easy drinking, calm, milk chocolate finish. Lola is bold & complex – some folks say stubborn – an unexpectedly sweet blend of African, South American, and Indonesian beans.

Lola’s namesake was a rescue from the puppy mill. She had been caged and required severe knee surgery but soon grew into the strong and sweet dog that inspired this coffee.

Tasting Notes: Almond, Dark Chocolate, Blueberry

Butkus is dark, robust, and moody. It is like the Bordeaux of coffee - full mouthed and rich. Wanted to appeal to folks who wanted a bigger blend. Butkus puts the earth in “Earthy” with tad of blueberry up front with a deep rich hue of chocolate rounding out at the end. Traditional Espresso! Butkus is a blend of Indonesian, Central American, and African beans.

Named for Brutus Maximus Butkus (aka Sir-Poops-a-Lot), a 60 lb. English Bull Terrier that showed up at our back door at 6 a.m. His life was short but robust and full of flavor — just like our Butkus Blend.

Tasting Notes: Smoky, Nutty, Fruity

HANK IS BIG AND BOLD. It was originally a blown roast but a few customers tried it and kept coming back. Now it's one of our classics. It's dark, rich, and not for the faint of heart. 100% Colombian beans.

Named after, you guess it, a dog. Hank was a BIG ole’ Mastif mix of one our barista’s. Unfortunately, Hank’s days were numbered and ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge. So in honor of Hank, the coffee was born.

Tasting Notes: Dried Fruit, Nutty, Chocolate

Mocha is our recreation of the Mokka Java flavor from Yemen that is very difficult to source due to the ongoing civil war. We missed it too much and decided to (after many different combinations and roast levels) create a similar flavor profile with a mix of Central American, South American, Indonesian, and African beans. Mocha is complex, chocolate-y, and full of flavor.

This Mocha Blend is named for Catahoula’s namesake dog, one of the best Catahoula Leopard Hounds ever to exist. Mocha crossed the rainbow bridge many years ago but she lives on in our hearts and through this blend.

Roast Level: Light & Dark Blend

Tasting Notes: Floral, Citrus, Caramel

3 Amigas is bright and balanced. It's a Central American bean roasted at 3 different levels. Each level is good by itself, however, combining them creates a wonderful complex cup of coffee.

Named for 3 of the greatest dogs: Mocha, Abby, and Lola.

Abby is our half-caf blend for those days when you need caffeine can't take a full dose. She's a blend of African, Central American, Indonesian, and South American.

Named for Abby, the dog with a bit of a split personality. Ever so sweet, but if you sniff her butt (not that I do, mind you) the wrong way…. It’s game on! Fur will fly!

We use a Royal Water Processed Decaf bean (no chemicals, just water!). The reality is that the decaffeination process always strips a bit of flavor from the bean which is why we make sure to choose especially flavorful and quality beans from Ethiopia for our Decaf. Our decaf is for coffee connoisseurs who drink for taste and not just the buzz.

This is a full-frontal fruit-al, Ethiopian Naturally Processed coffee. Close your eyes, breathe in, and absorb the aroma of ripe blueberries, which give way to a deep cacao-chocolate finish.

Tasting Notes: Dark Chocolate, Fruit, Raspberry

Grown in the Nitin Estate in the Ngorongoro Area of Tanzania. This peaberry coffee boasts notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and raspberry, plus a smooth body and medium acidity, making it the perfect cup of coffee for any time of day. Medium Roast.

Peaberry coffee comes from a mutation in the coffee plant, meaning that instead of two beans per cherry, there is only one. Though this could sound bad, this tiny little bean actually benefits from receiving all of the cherry’s nutrients to create intense and rich flavors.

This is one of Catahoula’s favorite coffees to promote: for its amazing aromas, incredible taste, and supple cream-like texture, and to support the growers in Rwanda. More than 80 percent of the workforce is women, and producer-members have used earnings to improve standards of living with investments in livestock, access to healthcare, and programs to protect the environment

Tasting Note: Smokey, Low Acidity, Earthy

Monsoon Malabar is a Catahoula Cult Classic grown in Southern India. You either love it or hate it. It’s the wasabi of coffee. The freshly picked beans are left outside and soaked by monsoon rains, which creates a unique, low-acidity coffee with a crazy sharp twist. Extremely smoky and earthy.

Grown on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, one of the largest in the archipelago, these Sumatra Mandheling Grade One beans make deliciously rich, smooth, and deep earthy notes and low acidity.

Grown in Southern Mexico in clay mineral soil on small farms, then slowly fermented for 48 hours in cold spring water before drying on patios and raised beds. If you want a delightfully clean and bright cup of coffee, these beans are for you.

El Salvador – Cerro De Las Ranas Honey

A Catahoula favorite returns! Grown by the Salaverria family in Apaneca, El Salvador, this honey-processed coffee delivers a beautifully balanced cup with notes of caramel, grapefruit, and orange zest. The honey process creates a silky body and lingering sweetness, while our Full City roast highlights the coffee's vibrant citrus and rich caramel finish.

This coffee is sourced from Fazenda Palto Azul, located in the Cerrado Mineiro region, a protected origin within the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Fazenda Palto Azul is owned by Elio Carneiro and it has a total area of more than 7,000 acres but the vast majority is protected forest with less than 2,400 acres cultivated with coffee. Fazenda Palto Azul uses a rain catchment system and drip irrigation lines to deliver carefully measured moisture and nutrients to the coffee plants. During the harvest the estate employs more than 150 people.
