Best described as a “Serial Entrepreneur,” Timber has an uncanny knack of not listening to sound advice. This ole’ Nebraska boy came late to the “coffee game.” Boredom from his successful Merry Maids franchise paired with a void of good espresso led Timber to see the need for quality coffee in his adoptive home, the Coastal Hamlet of Richmond, CA. Family and friends warned him of the fragility (or stupidity) of opening up a high-end coffee roasting company/café here, but he didn’t listen and forged ahead. Thus, Catahoula Coffee was born. And what better way to start a business than naming it after his dog, Mocha, who was a Catahoula Leopard Hound. One of Timber’s many mantras is, “If you can’t have fun with your business, what good is it for anyways?” This can be seen throughout the company, and is the main reason that our Classic Blends are named after dogs. Timber’s ability to think ahead of the game, then arrive late to the table is reflective of his personal life. Frequent confusion as to whether he is the father or grandfather of his children never fails to bring a smile to his face. Better late than never. Timber is blessed with two wonderful kids.

Alfredo was Catahoula Coffee’s second hire in 2007 during the good ol’ days of Catahoula. Alfredo has always kept quiet confidence in “listening and learning.” Starting as a kid who rolled into the cafe for his Weekend morning barista shifts, Alfie soon expanded his horizons by learning and then mastering the fundamentals of Coffee Roasting. As the years rolled on, he absorbed different and more substantial responsibilities. He’s done everything at Catahoula, from barring to bagging, roasting to managing, and these days he oversees Catahoula’s two cafes and Business Operations. His private life mirrors this same trajectory. He is a wonderful husband and an awesome dad to his two adorable kids.
