This has become a Cult Classic at Catahoula. My bean broker shakes his head each time I tell him how folks have really been flocking toward this coffee. I guess we're just tougher here in Richmond, CA. Monsoon coffees are left in open warehouses so the "Monsoon" rains wash over them, thus bleaching of color and plumping them while adding a very intense complexity to the beans. Smoky, Tobacco-ish and Brutishly Intense are descriptives of these beans. I basically consider this coffee as the "Wasbi" of coffees: Sharp, cleans out your sinuses all the while snaps your eyes wide open. Not for the faint of heart.
